The Diabetes Bus Way
Certified Diabetes Educators as teachers

Group Learning – less intimidating and more fun.

Hands-on experiences – tasting better juice choices, measuring cereal, and more.

No Diet – just practical information for eating healthier, without giving up any particular food.

No Blame – It’s not your fault you have diabetes. We want to help you make better choices when you can and live your life YOUR way, while managing your diabetes.

Cost – We are a nonprofit. There is no specific cost for classes. At each class we offer the opportunity for participants to make an optional donation, if they choose.

“I did not understand what diabetes was until going through your program. Thank you for all you did for me.” Tom, Wake Forest

“It helped me with the food…I was hearing everything from people and I was so confused.” Jim, Franklinton

“It really clarified the blood sugar testing…I wasn’t sure why I had to test and what the numbers meant” Margaret S, Benson

“I thought I knew a lot about diabetes since I have had it for 12 years. Now, I know so much more. I wish I had taken this class a long time ago”. Claire J. Youngsville

“My doctor signed me up for a class in Raleigh but they told me it would cost 700 dollars. I couldn’t afford that, so I didn’t go. I was doing my meter wrong, so I am really glad I came.” Alphonza H. Franklinton

“I was really glad to hear I could have potatoes. Everyone told me ‘no more potatoes’…. I learned so much about protecting my feet, too. That scares me.” Vestal B, Louisburg
