In our 2006-2007 year, we are proud to announce that our class participants had an average drop in A1c of 1.5% after attending classes. This drop is associated with a reduction in the complications of diabetes by 25-40% and a reduction in cost to the patient and their insurer of more than 1,000 dollars.
Diabetes Management Solutions was born in 2000’ in an effort to provide access to quality diabetes education and diabetes support to people in North Carolina. You cannot manage your diabetes well by reading a brochure. At that time and still today, quality diabetes management classes are typically only available to people near large, urban hospitals. For those outside the reach of these large hospitals, diabetes classes are not offered because insurance reimbursement for teaching is minimal.
Helping people living better with diabetes is our goal. We provide free diabetes self-management classes in communities that do not offer
such classes.
We also reach
out to communities with public diabetes education via
our Diabetes Bus. We are currently providing classes
and community programs to people in and around
